At Boise State, we're different. Bronco Athletics was built through hard work, determination and by all those who Bleed Blue. As the landscape of collegiate athletics continues to shift, so too do expectations. Athletic departments across the country are currently faced with a decision: Where do we go next? 

 

Rooted in our Blue Collar mentality, Boise State Athletics is ready to take a bold step into the unknown. As we look to the future, our longstanding tradition of creativity and innovation, combined with the spirit of Bronco Nation, will guide the next steps in our unwavering pursuit of excellence.  

 

Creating opportunities and impacting the lives of Boise State's more than 350 student-athletes requires strategic planning, resources and a determination to elevate our sights. To aggressively move forward, Boise State Athletics is launching an ambitious strategic blueprint for success - The What's Next Initiative.

 

By focusing on a multi-year plan to enhance our infrastructure, revenue generation, student-athlete experience and marketability, our time is now to impact the trajectory and sustainability of Bronco Athletics for years to come. Boise State Athletics is on the verge of becoming a leader in college athletics. By supporting the Horsepower Drive for 10,000 BAA members, contributing to upcoming capital projects and sharing our story, together, we can define What's Next.

  • Build a nationally-competitive athletics facilities portfolio
     

  • Optimize Athletic Department organizational chart and structure
     

  • Identify and procure resources, staffing, tools and programming necessary to provide Bronco student-athletes with opportunities to succeed in competition, in the classroom and in life after college

  • Complete facilities assessment and develop plan to address needs (Spring 2022)
     

  • Achieve campaign readiness for upcoming Athletics capital projects (Summer 2022)
     

  • Finalize reorganization of external affairs staff (Winter 2021/22)

  • Expand BroncoBOLD offerings to meet the needs of student-athletes in mental health and wellness
     

  • Provide first-class experiences to every Boise State student-athlete across 18 sport programs
     

  • Create the most student-athlete friendly Name, Image and Likeness program in the country

  • Increase student-athlete participation in BroncoLife events and programming (Ongoing)
     

  • Implement new internal communications tools to improve efficiency and scale of communication with student-athletes, coaches and staff (Spring 2022)
     

  • Complete Title IX assessment and identify areas of opportunity (Summer 2022)
